Sedation in Avian Species

Program Description: This program will provide an introduction to sedation in avian species commonly kept as pets (parrots, pigeons/doves, chickens, and ducks). It will cover indications for sedation, commonly used sedative agents and combinations, routes of administration, monitoring of the sedated patient, safety measures to prevent morbidity and mortality, and patient recovery.
